In the design, I drew inspiration from Mucha's style, the layout of Western tarot cards, and traditional Chinese patterns. These elements were combined to create several fusion motifs that blend Western and Chinese cultures, resulting in a harmonious style that unites the aesthetic appeal of diverse traditions.

In traditional motifs, I incorporated plum blossom patterns, ruyi motifs, lingzhi designs, and begonia patterns. Each carries distinct symbolic meanings: lingzhi signifies auspicious longevity, ruyi represents smooth fulfillment of wishes, plum blossoms embody noble integrity, and begonia patterns symbolize prosperity filling the home. The fusion of Eastern and Western motifs, combined with traditional Chinese blessings, allows viewers to appreciate how Chinese and Western cultures can be seamlessly integrated.

Inspired by the poetic spirit of Chinese vegetation and flowering plants, this pattern series captures the timeless charm of chrysanthemums, plum blossoms, mint leaves, and mushrooms — each symbolizing distinct virtues found in nature.

Drawing from traditional Chinese poetry and seasonal customs, the chrysanthemums represent resilience and purity, echoing Tao Yuanming’s calm appreciation of life’s simplicity. The plum blossom, blooming bravely in winter, conveys renewal and hope, while mint adds a refreshing sense of vitality and health. The gentle rhythm of mushrooms, growing quietly in shaded forests, embodies harmony and natural balance.

Through refined visual repetition and organic forms, the design merges classical cultural motifs with contemporary pattern aesthetics. The arrangement translates poetic nostalgia into modern visual language, celebrating the enduring relationship between nature and human emotion.
