Chulan Kwak - Pattern 01

The semantic characteristics (草) and morphological characteristics (艸) of ‘Radical Grass(艸)’ were each created as patterns.

The first pattern was conceptualized from the semantic characteristic of ‘Radical Grass(艸)’. The lush grass was applied to Kwak’s Cursive Structure series to create a pattern that visually evokes a grassland when repeated.

Another one, based on the morphological concept of ‘Radical Grass(艸)’, was designed in a three-dimensional form, reminiscent of Caoshu(草書) in space. When repeated, it naturally evokes the miniature form of ‘Small Seal Script(小篆體)’ of ‘Radical Grass(艸)’.
